The development and applications of radio, television, radar, transistors, computers and robotics have caused fundamental changes on the way we live and work today and how we view the future. Apart from having a leading edge teaching facility and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to enhance the learning experience of the students, the department develops the analytical and practical skills of students to serve better industrial, organizational and research set ups. The opportunities in this field are plentiful and diverse and hence the demand is ever increasing. Opportunities for electrical engineers are high in areas like aerospace, automotives, telephone, power utilities etc.

The main objective of this department is to disseminate technical education of high caliber thereby nurturing technological abilities of students to master new concepts. The department organizes workshops, seminars and guest lectures on contemporary areas to bridge the gap between syllabi and current developments.
